Bucharest Giurgiului Cemetery Burial Register

Below are sample images of the burial register from the Giurgiului Cemetery in Bucharest, which opened in 1929/1930 and is the second-largest Jewish cemetery in Romania. The images were acquired from the Central Archives for the History of the Jewish People in Jerusalem.

The styles of the records differ, with the earlier records written in Romanian but with Hebrew names added (in various handwritings), with the later records generally only being in Romanian.

We need help transcribing these records - if you are interested, please fill out our volunteer form here, and indicate which language you can transcribe.
