The Jewish American (Detroit, Michigan) (February 21, 1902)
A Congress of Jewish Communities was held in Jassy last month, and was attended by forty-five delegates drawn from all parts of the kingdom. Herr Brociner, of Bucharest, was elected President, and in the course of an address he blamed the Jews for having by their negligence allowed the favorable laws enacted by the late Minister Cogalniceanu to become obsolete. One outcome of the Congress was the formation of a Union for the protection of Jewish educational and religious interests.
