Last week a Jewish bootmaker named David Tchabo, died at Jassy, whose reputed age was 121 years.

In the course of last week, 320 Jewish families have left Berlad, Braila and Galatz for America, and 200 have emigrated from Bucharest.

All the Jewish employes at the Railway Station at Focsani have been dismissed from the service. The majority of them are old soldiers and have, moreover, been in the employ of the railway for many years.

From Foltisheni 17 Jewish families have been expelled on the ground that they had no right to reside in villages. The heads of the families were old soldiers.

By the munificence of Herr Marks Usiel, of Vienna, a Jewish Gymnasium has been erected at Pietru. The Institution, which has cost 25,000 francs, has been built in memory of the parents of Herr Usiel.
